At Bernie Regan Oval and Lyrebird Sportspark these flying insects did their best to be annoying.
However, for the players it was a case of batting powerfully, bowling accurately and fielding with energy which they all did.
Many great efforts were recorded on the day and lots of fun had by all.
Meanwhile, more juniors could be playing cricket next season after Cricket NSW recently appointed an Area Manager for Southern NSW and ACT.
Martin Gleeson, as area manager, will be looking into various issues like falling numbers and a lack of an under 16s competition.
Martin is keen to hear what the clubs think about not having an under 16s and get their views.
“Maybe this might mean we put together some sort of review or a working party and something we spend a bit of time consulting with the different stakeholders to work out what the best plan of attack might be,” he said.
