On the back of a classy 107 from Paul Kezik, the visitors at the Bernie Regan Sporting Complex posted 224 in their first innings.
In reply, Norths struggled from the outset, with only Paul Davidson (22) and James Cohen (12) reaching double figures, as the hosts were all out for 56 in the 38th over.
Most of the damage was caused by Lachlan Adlington, who claimed 5/7 from his nine overs.
The other wickets were shared between Riley Jarrett (2/14), Jon Kingston (1/1), Jake Westley (1/7) and Pat Matson (1/11).
This saw Sussex enforce the follow-on and send Norths back to the middle, where they held on to be 8/136 at stumps – narrowly avoiding the outright loss.
Toby Huard (29) and Jack Walsh (26) were Norths best in the second innings while Deklin Matson (4/32), Christian Sargood (2/18) and Pat Matson (2/28) all bowled well for Sussex.
At Bomaderry Oval, Batemans Bay claimed first innings points against Bomaderry.
After posting 250 on day one, the Bay rolled the Tigers for just 99 in reply – with Darcy Knights (3/10) being the pick of the bowlers.
Other multiple wicket takers for the visitors were Lachlan Malcolm (2/11) and Praveen Varghese (2/17).
The visitors then forced the Tigers to follow-on, in an attempt to claim maximum points.
But thanks to a courageous 30 not out from skipper Mathew Bell, Bomaderry held on to be 8/78 at stumps – with Lachlan Paterson (2/9) and Varghese (2/30) leading the way for the Bay.
The final match completed this weekend saw Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemens defeat Bay and Basin on first innings at Sanctuary Point Oval.
After restricting the hosts to 120 on day one, Ex-Servos declared at 3/184 – thanks to 54 from Luke Jurancic and 33 not out from Luke Jones.
Michael Dolby (2/43) and Luke Gogerly (1/50) were Basin’s only wicket takers.
In their second innings, Basin, thanks to 19 not out from opener Tom Mason, avoided the outright defeat by just two wickets – being 8/42 at stumps.
Gary Fuss (4/3) added another four wickets to his total in the second innings, to take his match total to seven for Ex-Servos in the win – with Rocky Ninovic (1/4) and Matt Smit (1/10) also claiming a scalp.
The final match of the round was completed on day one, with Berry-Shoalhaven Heads defeating Ulladulla United on outright at Lighthouse Oval.
