The Shoalhaven squad won the division two title last season with Batemans Bay boys Jeremy Harding and Riley O’Shannessy, and this year’s first division squad will feature five players from Batemans Bay.
The under 16s Shoalhaven team played the under 16s Batemans Bay team in a curtain raiser at 3pm, then ran a fundraiser outside the stadium for the remainder of the evening.
The main event tipped at 5pm, and drew a good-sized crowd of more than 50 people.
The two teams traded blows in the opening five minutes of the match, but Shoalhaven’s class eventually won out, as they built a big lead by half time.
Shoalhaven weren’t done in the second half, as they continued toying with the Breakers in a 90-47 win.
