The 24-year-old has achieved her dream and is set to shine in Nowra this week as one half of the Circus Rio straps duo act.
Performing alongside her partner Marc Matousek, the aerial artist performs a range of tricks and incredible manoeuvres.
While it’s a slick performance, Chantal said it take a lot of time behind the scenes.
“We do a lot of strength and flexibility training which takes a lot of time and effort but we absolutely love it,” she said.
“There's always a risk involved but you put the training in and get in the right mind frame.”
Chantal is on the road with Circus Rio 11 months of the year. It’s a lifestyle you’ve got to love to live it.
“It’s not easy at times, there’s a lot of behind the scenes things like putting up the tents, moving the vans, driving to the next location and being away from friends and family,” she said.
“But we just love the circus life, we get to have our dogs with us and I couldn’t imagine any other way.
“It’s not a 9-5 job but it’s absolutely worth it.”
Chantal said Circus Rio is set to light up Nowra with its illusionist acts, the world-renowed Flying Cranes from Russia, Salsa dancers, aerial acts, FMX riders and plenty more.
The circus is in Nowra from January 23 to February 3. See circusrio.com/ for more details.
