Dear all, as I look at the crime reports over the last week it is easy to see that people are just not thinking about the security of their property.

Could it be that when someone is on holidays and their relaxed mood increases their attention to property security decreases?
Sir Isaac Newton’s third law of motion states - “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction”.
Could this law be used to explain what has been happening over the holiday period in the Shoalhaven.
I say “No”.
Property security should be maintained at all times.
Thousands of good people come down to the Shoalhaven to savour our beautiful lakes. rivers and beaches - to splash about in our pristine waters and to sample our cuisine and lifestyle.
So do the crooks!
While you are mooring your boats for the night, don’t leave fishing gear, fishing rods, eskies etc inside.
Don’t leaving bikes, eskies and unlocked cars outside while tucking yourself in at the local campground.
Remember, the crooks may be waiting.
If you provide the opportunity for a crook to steal your property, it may well happen.
And while you are now having a horrible holiday without your fishing gear or boat motor or credit cards, the crook is having a great time at your expense.
Remove your valuables from vehicles and boats.
Don’t leave your eskies, bikes, surfboards etc out the front of the annex.
Keep your wallet safe and not in the car overnight.
Don’t keep valuables in a bag on the beach or under a towel when you go for a swim.
If you do have cameras, wallets, phones etc down the beach, make sure someone is with them at all times.
Take turns with swimming and watching.
In a perfect world we shouldn’t have to do it, however the world is not perfect and there are crooks about.
