The 16-year-old was offered this amazing opportunity, which will see her train in programs for both the sevens and 15s, on the back of her extraordinary 2018 season.

Her achievements included playing for the Illawarriors (in both sevens and 15s) involving a trip to Hong Kong, the NSW Country sevens, ACT Brumbies schoolgirls, NSW sevens squad and ACT sevens squads.

“I have had a great season in 2018 and I wouldn’t have been able to do it if it wasn’t for all the support I get off my family,” Sullivan said.

“I guess I have just trained hard and taken every opportunity I’ve been given and made the most of it.

“The Illawarra team played a major part of my year, as it is more like a family than a team and I’m so grateful to have played for them – they’ve definitely helped me grow as a player.”

On the back of these achievements and training up to four times a week, her coach offered her a spot in Canberra – which she jumped at.

“Going down to Canberra, I intend to take every opportunity that comes my way and try become the best player I can be, on and off the field,” she said.

Sullivan, who generally plays in the front or second row, doesn’t want to get too far ahead of herself, she admits this move gets her closer to one day playing for Australia.

“This opportunity will definitely it will benefit me a lot, as it will teach me plenty of new skills that will take my game to the next level,” she said.

“I find it extremely humbling to get giving such an amazing opportunity as it will get me closer to my dream of playing Super Rugby and then for Australia.

“It is going to be a great opportunity for me to learn and grow as a player.”
