Premier Gladys Berejiklian and South Coast MP Shelley Hancock joined club members on Tuesday to announce the renovations, which will include improvements to the changing room facilities, first aid room and the canteen.
The funding has been secured through the NSW Government’s 2018 Community Building Partnership Program, which has funded 13,800 community projects since it started nearly a decade ago.
“This is fantastic news for the Nowra-Culburra Surf Lifesaving Club, with this grassroots funding directly helping to create a more vibrant and inclusive local community for local beach goers and visitors to the South Coast,” Ms Berejiklian said.

Mrs Hancock said the funding would allow the club to undertake essential upgrades to the clubhouse, enabling volunteers to continue to undertake their valuable work in the community.
“Saving lives is not easy, and our role as a government is to ensure these volunteers have the facilities they need to do their jobs,” Mrs Hancock said.
“The NSW Government has supported the club with over $250,000 in funding for capital works over recent years which has enabled essential renovations to bring the club up to a 21stcentury standard.
The Nowra-Culburra Surf Lifesaving Club has more than 300 members and volunteers, with Mrs Hancock thanking them for the valuable work they do in the community.
These funds will see the clubhouse at Culburra Beach continue its transformation to the quality facility the community expects and deserves,” Mrs Hancock said.
