On Monday morning, a woman staying at Palm Beach Caravan Park reported a number of personal items had been stolen, including a fridge and beachtowels.
Police were contacted and caravan park staff kicked into gear.
Staff found CCTV footage of two men and one woman who appeared to be stealing the towels, and were identifiable.
They shared the footage via Facebook, and within three hours, those involved in the crime were identified.
The towels were recovered, however the portable fridge remains at large.
Caravan park operator Michael Burke removed the initial post, due to legal reasons, and put up another post to inform the community of the positive outcome.
“Thanks to the local community for their continued support, we can not do it without them,” Mr Burke said via Facebook.
“We continue to ensure a safe, secure and enjoyable time for all our guests and always welcome constructive discussions.”
Mr Burke told the South Coast Register Sanctuary Point is normally a safe place. He believes it does not deserve its reputation as a crime hotbed.
“I genuinely think this area gets a worse name than what it deserves,” Mr Burke said.
“You have to be vigilant anywhere this time of year.”
The South Coast Register contacted police, who were unable to provide further information on the incident.
