It’s been a busy start to the New Year. You will have noticed the police on the roads. They are also keeping a keen eye out for a wanted Victorian sex offender. Christopher Empey, described by his sentencing judge as monster, was spotted in Nowra in December. He is extremely dangerous so police have asked members of the public not to approach Empey if they spot him but to contact them immediately.

Mosquitoes have also been busy, so we approached an entomologist to find out why they appear to be in such plague proportions.
Nowra was enthralled by two big events – the rodeo and the New Year’s Eve fireworks, both of which attracted big crowds.
