A total of 43 students trained in their ranks in front of the Senior Instructors to demonstrate their competency in Taekwon-do technique, patterns, self-defense and free sparring.
The beginner white belt students all successfully graded through to the next level of yellow belt showing real determination and stamina.
A special mention goes to Julie Mckay, Sion Wessell and Bill Donohue who were all triple graded through to green tip having demonstrated outstanding commitment to their training and respect to the art of Taekwon-do.
Among the many other students four red belt students were put though a gruelling physical and theoretical test to achieve their black stripes.
Amanda Ingold was impressive with her self-defence routines. These students now continue their Taekwon-do journey training and will train for the next six months to the next level of black belt supported as always by assistant instructors Boosabums Dan and Jack Fisher and Boosabum Jake Rabbett.
Also included in the gradings was our impressive (and excitable) group of 12 Little Dragons who ranged in age from four to six-years-old.
With Sabum Rob in the lead they were able to show us their first white belt patterns and the basic kicks and punches.
With lots of respect, encouragement and congratulations from the other students and parents they all received their red stripes and certificates. Keep up the great work.
The grading evening gave our students an opportunity to showcase their high standard of training and technique achieved in the training halls. However it was also a time to show the genuine respect displayed between students and to their Instructors reflecting the Taekwon-do tenets of courtesy, integrity, perseverence, self-control and indomitable spirit.
Sabum Rob would also like to acknowledge the significant contribution and commitment made by the parents of our students. Your support in getting the students to and from training twice a week is invaluable and Sabum Rob thanks you.
The Taekwon-do families then celebrated another successful year with a Christmas barbecue at Lake Conjola on Sunday, December 2 topped off by the traditional Taekwon-do cupcakes.
