With a history of anti-social behaviour occurring around the camping area of the Danjera Dam site, Shoalhaven City Council rangers will patrol the area over the coming weeks to provide visitors with a level of confidence that conditions of use are being monitored and enforced.
These patrols will be supported by the NSW Police trail bike squad and with visits from local private security services.
Council recently resolved to proceed with a number of recommendations from Shoalhaven Water about the future management of the site and one of these actions was to close the camping area during periods of severe fire danger levels.
This will occur at the next, and any future, severe fire periods with campers being required to leave the area.
Visitors to the area should monitor signage, Rural Fire Service and Shoalhaven Water websites before attending as any closure will be clearly displayed.
