On December 10, the 55th Jamhuri National Day of the Republic of Kenya was celebrated by diplomats and ambassadors at a federal reception in Canberra.
At the event, the High Commissioner of Kenya Ambassador Isaiya Kabira presented Mrs Moore with an award for “appreciation for long standing and invaluable commitment to the promotion of the Republic of Kenya”.
“It’s recognition for the past 24 years which is pretty special,” Mrs Moore said.
Over the past 24 years, Mrs Moore has taken hundreds of people to visit Kenya and its people.
“Everyone gets so much out of it, just seeing how these people live and how beautiful they are.”
Mrs Moore has achieved a lot for the Kenyan people in the past 24 years, but she remains modest about her hard work.
“I just love showing people how beautiful the country is,” she said.
“I love seeing peoples’ reactions when they see just how incredible it is.”
