After what Stewart described as a ‘lean year’ in 2017 – after being dropped form the Hockeyroos – the 21-year-old stormed back into the Australian picture with a dominant performance at the Oceania Cup.
This saw her springboard back into the Hockeryoos side full-time in 2018, where she competed at the Commonwealth Games and the World Cup – before leading her New South Wales Arrows side to glory in the final ever Australian Hockey League at the Gold Coast.
Despite this, Stewart was again excluded from the Hockeyroos’ Champions Trophy squad before recently being named in the national senior women’s squad, alongside Mollymook’s Kalindi Commerford – ahead of a very exciting 2019 season.
