The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry of five consecutive numbers at Callala Bay IGA Supermarket.
He won the guaranteed first prize of $200,000 and a consolation prize of $2000.
The unsuspecting winner was blown away when a NSW Lotteries official called him in the afternoon to break the news.
“Oh wow, isn’t that lovely,” he exclaimed.
“That’s so great. I’m so surprised.
“I won a nice prize a few years ago, but it certainly wasn’t this big.”
The regular Lucky Lotteries player revealed he’s been playing for decades and this win means he can spend more time doing what he loves.
“I absolutely love being out on the ocean, so I’ll be doing plenty more of that,” he said.
“I’ve been looking at buying another boat, I was only looking at it last week, thinking it’s time to upgrade.
“Now I can finally do that.”
Callala Bay IGA Supermarket manager Ringo Thompson said the outlet was celebrating the wonderful win.
“This is fantastic for our village,” he said.
“We haven’t had a big win in years, this is great news.”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $31.24 million for draw 1177 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $1.93 million for draw 10261.
