The hosts at Bomaderry Oval won the toss and elected to bat first.
But only Mathew Bell (44), Sebastian Jeffrey (11) and Jake Stephens (10) reached double figures as the Tigers were all out for 91 in the 39th over.
Causing most of the damage with the ball was Dolphins pair Darren O’Keefe (3/13) and Troy Cole (3/25), who both claimed three wickets.
The other three Basin wickets were shared between David Rickwood (2/15) and Dre Howlett (1/20).
In reply, Basin will resume at 5/162 on day two – thanks to knocks from Tom Dolby (51), Darren O’Keefe (35 not out) and Tom Mason (25).

At Hayden Drexel Oval, Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemens’ top order have put them in a commanding position against North Nowra-Cambewarra.

With the cherry, James Cohen (3/68) and Toby Huard (2/19) were the only multiple wickets takers for the visitors.
Other wicket takers for Norths included Hyeon Parsons (1/40), Troy Sweet (1/49), Tobias Hanger (1/57) and Robert Haigh (1/78).
At the Thompson Street Sports Complex, Sussex Inlet made the most off winning the toss on their home deck against Ulladulla United.
The hosts reached 8/261 declared, from 59 overs, thanks to Jake Westley (79), Pat Matson (42) and Shane Bate (40).
With the ball, wicket takers for United were Alex Eggins (2/4), Jed Silver (2/48), Mark Allsopp (1/32), Terry Dorrell (1/38) and Tony Lavalle (1/55).
On day two, United, who have a big chase ahead of them, will resume at 0/26 – with Terry Dorrell (13 not out) and Andrew Eggins (six not out) at the crease.
The final match of the round is being played at Hanging Rock between Batemans Bay and Berry-Shoalhaven Heads.
The hosts won the toss and chose to bat first, which quickly paid dividends.
Behind solid contributions from Luke Condon (60), Daniel Smith (42), Anthony Mortimer (36) and Ryan Hall (21), the Bay reached 256 from their 76.2 overs.
