A 55-year-old Milton man has been found not guilty of attempted murder by a jury in Nowra District Court.

Sean Francis Gaffney faced attempted murder and firearms charges.
Court papers alleged Gaffney had pointed a loaded gun at a Milton shop owner in January 2017, pulled the trigger but the gun failed to fire.
It was alleged at approximately 10pm on January 3 last year Gaffney demanded entry to a closed retail store on the Princes Highway, Milton where a man and two women were working.
The owner of the store, a 35-year-old man, refused Gaffney entry and it was alleged he punched the store owner before he pointed a gun at him and fired.
The two men became involved in a fight and the victim was able to gain control of the gun.
Gaffney was arrested the following day at an Ulladulla address. During the arrest he suffered a seizure and was taken to Milton Ulladulla Hospital in a stable condition, under police guard before before being released.
Gaffney faced a number of charges including attempted murder and firearm offences.
After a hearing in Nowra District Court before Judge Philip Mahony, a jury returned a not guilty verdict.
