Shoalhaven, coached by North Nowra-Cambewarra’s Brett Mark, opened their double header against the Illawarra Flames at Eridge Park.
Batting first in their Twenty20 fixture, Shoalhaven posted 3/130, which proved just enough to secure victory – after restricting their rivals to 4/114 from their allocated overs.
Unfortunately, Mark’s side, which featured India Bellhouse, Ruby Marhsall, Tilly Speerin, Emily Zerafa, Annalee Watson, Charlotte Thompson and Milly de Haum, couldn’t extend their winning streak to two matches, after falling to the ACT Aces at Centennial Park.
Despite posting the competitive total of 5/109 in their innings, it wasn’t enough for Shoalhaven, as the Aces reached 7/158 from their 20 overs.
Shoalhaven return to the field this Sunday, playing two matches at Centennial Park.
First up is the South Coast Crew at 10am, before backing it up later that afternoon at the Illawarra Flames at 2pm.
This Sunday is the last set of games before Christmas, with matches resuming on February 3, where Shoalhaven will again battle ACT before a final round showdown with South Coast on February 10.
