THREE of Group Seven’s top up and coming referees have been acknowledged for their strong form on the field in 2018, by being selected in the 2019 Country Rugby League junior representative squad.

Bailey Warren, Ryan Micallef and Michael Booth are part of the 25-person referees squad, which has just completed an intensive training camp at Western Sydney University’s Bankstown campus.
Joining the South Coast trio in the squad are Newcastle’s Louis Matheson, Cameron Smith, Brett Eyb, Dylan Clarke, Kurt Grogan and Jake Eyb, Group Six’s Jack Mackay, Jake McGrath and Josh Ashkar, Northern Rivers’ Brad Goodwin, Castlereagh’s Peter Evans, Group 16’s Braiden McIntosh, Group 10’s Bryce Hotham and Athony Pond, Group 21’s Corey Martin, Group Four’s Ryan Schmiedel, Central Coast’s Ben Thompson, Shaun Greentree, Jack Greentree and Pat Allen and Illawarra’s Matt Reeves and William Damato.
All these referees will now take to the field during the CRL’s Johns and Daley Cup competitions, which run from February 16 to April 6 – doing three matches and two sidelines during the tournament.
Also worth noting was the selection of Group Seven’s Eleanor Drury, who was named in the CRL junior representative touch judge preliminary squad.
She is joined in the squad by Group Three’s Bayley Dimarco, Brad Hart, Group Four’s Brody Barrie, Group Six’s Shane Crichlow, Group Nine’s Sarah Jane Muir, Tim Moloney, Connor Kirkman, Zac McDonald and Sean Byatt, Group 10’s Adam Callaghan, Group 11’s Shanika Harpur, Group 16’s Harrison Baker, Group 21’s Lachlan Ballard, Newcastle’s Jack Fisher, Central Coast’s Deacon Cameron, Illawarra’s Ryan Sweeney and William Cambourne and Northern Rivers’ Callum Harrison, Lachlan West and Nick Weller.
