We had 13 of our members at the Sussex Course to play a stableford even. The weather was warm and it was great to be playing on such a nice golf course. We were also lucky to have Pembels and the Copulator having a game with us, after a long absence.
The winner on the day was the Copulator with 19 points. T2 was second with 18 points, Pembels was next with 15 points, on a countback from Skeeter and the Mayor. The Mars Bar went to Haggis. Nearest the pin on the 5th went to the Copulator as did the Drive and Pitch on the 9th.
The Raffle was won by Rocket Ron on the 9th. It was suggested that the Copulator must have been hitting golf balls off the back of one of the many cruise ships he has been on, to come in with such a score, after such a long absence from golf. There was a disturbance on one of the sand bunkers, after one of our members found it rather hard to get out of the bunker. The Captain will make sure that such behavior won’t happen again. Skeeter and the boys did a great job of cooking the Bacon and egg roles they went down well.
Members are reminded that our Xmas function and presentation, will be on at the Country Club, sit down in the auditorium at 12 noon next Saturday 8/12/18. Next Saturday the game will be played at the Country Club, hit off at 7.45 am.
The Country Club St George’s Basin Women
The presentation luncheon was held on Thursday. Some women were very pleasantly surprised to be in the winners’ circle. Champion Deb Weeks was the stand-out trophy winner for 2018, with the next most prolific collector of honours being Pat Maidment. Well done to all those trophy gatherers, and special thanks to the champion applauders. That takes lots of practice.
Golf on Friday was a tale of tired bodies and sore feet from too much dancing. Chrissie Black benefitted from the dance moves and had the best score of the day, 39 points to win division 3. Kerry Coulter with 37 was r/ u in that division with Rhonda Fields next on 32. Division 1 winner had 37, the second best score of the day. Well done Jill Bussell. R/ U was Lois Dwyer with 35 then Cheryl Druett 34. Secretary Trish put aside her weariness to have the regulation 36 points for a division 2 win from Myra Kara 35, and then President Dell with 33 points. NTP winners were Julie Coulter, Val Kotlash and Rhonda Field.
Several of our members are currently on family care duties and were unable to attend Presentation Day festivities. We are missing you and send you our best wishes, hopefully you’ll be able to get to The Christmas lunch after golf on 14th December. Next week we are playing the yellow course.
Callala
A good field of keen players all looking to put their name on the last Callala Monthly Medal for 2018. A bit of a change with the new Callala Bistro serving up a great lunch to players after the day’s golf. How good is Callala Monthly Medal day getting with great players, great golf, great course condition and great food and with all these greats it can only be described as a fantastic day to be at Callala Golf Course. The “Golf Exchange” 11th hole is now at $130 and as Christmas is getting closer there is still no player good enough or lucky enough to claim the money. Thanks again to Golf Exchange, South Nowra for their continued support.

Saturday's event was the December Monthly Medal very kindly sponsored by Linda & Derek Trusler.
