Heavy rain amounting to some 100ml washed out play on Wednesday 28th.
Due to numerous other attractions operating on Saturday 1st December only one match of triples was played. This proved to be a very competitive match and was tied twice during the play. The scoring of seven counters on the last three ends saw Barry Dunn, Lindsay McNamara and Terry Hayes defeat the competitive team made up of Peter Webb, David Lambert and Nick Nicholls.
Social bowls are played at 1.00 pm of a Saturday and Wednesday with bookings to 0475 768 249 by noon on day of play. Visitors most welcome.

Breaking News .... After years of torment by Trevor McGuire it was revealed that Gary, Barry, Larry Melleuish will adopt the “if you can't beat them join them” approach and will step onto the green in next Saturdays Super 6 competition. Stay tuned for more updates.

Culburra Women
Once again it was wonderful to see so many of our ladies out enjoying their bowls last Tuesday. Winners on the day were Julie Cotton and Jean Eagleton over Margaret Gilchrist and Marilyn O’Day, Carol Blackshaw and Gail Scott over Ruby Salmon and Sandra Annetts, Dawn Neville, Marea Challender and Carol Turton over Trish Tom, Joy Hanneman and Elaine Turner, and Maree Guilfoyle and Judy Watson over Jenny Anderson and June Jones.
We had our Friendship day last Thursday, and although it was raining and we couldn’t get out on the greens, plan B was put into action. After a lovely morning tea, we spent the morning playing trivia. With many laughs and brains being stretched, everyone came out a winner. Over a lovely lunch provided by our ladies, everyone had the chance to catch up with old friends, and many new friendships were established.
We have had a number of our ladies not well lately – we wish you all a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing you all back on the greens to enjoy the end of year celebrations.
South Coast District
Bomaderry Ladies Bowling Club celebrated their 60th Birthday and with President Ray Martin on Monday, 26th November, 2018 with the representatives from the South Coast District attending, District President Ann, District Secretary Lynn, District Publicity Suzanne. President Ray welcomed everyone and thanked them for attending their special day.
A delightful morning tea was enjoyed before bowlers took to the greens for a friendly muck up game of bowls.The history of the Bomaderry Ladies were 15 ladies met at a café in Meroo St, Bomaderry with 10 taking positions, so keen were they to see the club come into being.They won No 1 Pennant 22 times, No 2 10 times, No 3 6 times No 4 6 times, so well done to all who participated. Fifteen clubs from the South Coast attended the celebration. After the cutting of the cake President Ray thanked all who attended and made the day so enjoyable.
Bomaderry Men
Bomaderry men’s bowls completed this year with its annual presentation night held in conjunction with the ladies on Friday night in what was a very successful evening. Such an event couldn’t happen without a lot of organisation and a big thankyou must go to Daniel, Rae and the rest of the organisers for a first class presentation of the event, room and choice of music, the popular duo “Backlash” who performed a variety of “our age music”.
With all of the main events now finished and celebrated social continued on Tuesday with Darren Leary & Charlie Francis collecting first, second went to Bob Webster & Brian Smith while third was Todd Marsden & Peter Drinkwater. The jackpot spins were by John Webb & Allan Kimpton unsuccessful as was Keith Beresford & Steve Helson.
On Thursday our super veterans Vince Erskine & Todd Marsden were in the winners circle taking first, second was Graeme Hinsley & Pepe Jakus while the jackpot spins were by Steve Fuller & Derek Chapman who missed out as did Willie Sulz & Joe B.
Thursday was the Ray White inter club challenge and in the men’s events the singles results were Berry defeated Nowra 31/6, Bomaderry defeated Culburra 31/25, Greenwell Point defeated Sussex Inlet RSL by just 1 31/30 and Huskisson defeated Ex Servicemen 31/22, in the pairs Berry defeated Huskisson 18/15, Sussex Inlet RSL defeated Bomaderry 14/11, Greenwell Point defeated Nowra 21/12 and Ex Services defeated Culburra 29/9. In the women’s events the singles went to Bomaderry 25/8 over Greenwell Point, Nowra 25/17 over Ex Services, Huskisson 25/18 over Berry and Sussex Inlet RSL 25/16 over Culburra. The pairs went to Culburra 22/11 over Greenwell Point, Nowra 18/13 over Berry, Bomaderry 22/16 over Huskisson and Ex Services 15/11 over Sussex Inlet RSL.
Saturday was the twilight bowls with Gerry Webster & Rae Martin getting first, second was Elaine Gardner & Derek Chapman while Ron Young & Chris Rae were third, on Sunday the Albies super chook run was held with Noel Duff taking first with a +19, second was Allan Kimpton + 16 and third was Harry Griffith + 15, the yearly awards for the chook run were completed with the Chookrunners of the year announced, third was Noel Duff with 34 points, second was Pepe Jakus 37 points and the Chookrunner of the year was Harry Griffith with 51 points. The Ray White interclub challenge concludes this week and our annual Christmas function is on Saturday the 22nd to conclude the year.
Roadrunners
Last Sunday 29 Roadrunners braved the heat for their social bowls. Three games of triples and two of pairs were played with the following results: Gary Wisniewski, Gordon Lang and Bob Brooks 30 overcame Brian Lambert, Col Milligan/Lee Dent and David Henry20. Doug Broad, Robin Oke and Tony Hutchins 20 got up against Alan Hayman, Leon Lill and Craig Lees 14. Harry Williams and Elaine Lill 23 were too good for Doug Hume/Col Manning and Jeff Deal 4. David White and Jack Field 29 defeated Dan/Dave Paul Barnes 16. An 18 all draw was played by the teams of Diane Field, Geoff Travis, Eric King, and Cathy Wisniewski, Rob Bloor, Trish Moy.

Results of Finals:
1st Division: Marlins def Eagles 9 games to 2. This started off as a close game with both teams winning a triples each, Marlins winning two doubles and then flying home to take all six singles. Peter Wood had five finishes and shared the high score of 140 with Phil Reeves and Matt Goozeff. Eagles Ian Green had the high score of an excellent 180.

Second Division: Squaws def Taipans 6 games to nil. Squaws come out fighting to take both triples and all three doubles. Sue and Kristel Kenny had three finishes each and Sue shared the high score of 125 with Kelly Hogan. Taipans were playing one short. John Perrin had the high score of 117.
Grand Final: Misfits v Squaws on boards 2 & 3 at Bomaderry RSL. Good Luck to all teams in Grand Final.

Shepherd defeated Puggle 4 sets 27 games to 2 sets 23 games. Top scorers were Ray on 19 and Mel on 15.
