On Sunday, December 2, Mariners under 14s travelling team played Berkeley Eagles at Fred Finch Park, Berkeley. Having had a win last time we played them we were looking to improve on that and bring home another win. With weather conditions not in either team’s favour, they battled the warm weather and dust storm to play out a full four innings, ending with the score Mariners 15, Eagles 7.

In the fourth and final innings, Eagles came out with bats on fire to have their best innings of the day, with Ethan Reid hitting a home run off the first pitched ball to bring home all 3 of their scored runs. Eagles put up a fight to the end with their improved skill set keeping us on our toes.

Shoalhaven Mariners Seahawks played Stingrays in the weekly Junior Baseball inter-club competition on Friday, November 30. With only half teams for each side taking the field, they had to work harder in the outfield to get their outs.
Some great hits were had by many players but in particular this week it was good to see the girls dominate in the batting box. The score ended in a 5-5 draw.
For Stingrays, Jasna Palmer had 2 single hits out to centre field, James Kallem a single to centre field and Charlaine Palmer had a 2 base hit into centre field.
Seahawks came out slowly in the first inning but regained themselves for the second inning bringing in 5 across the plate, once again girls dominating. Abbie Reid had a single to short stop, Brooke Palmer a single to centre field and Arana Palmer hit a double to short stop.
Pitching for the day was shared between Lochlan Quiney, Mitchell Parrott and Cooper Stibbard. Catching was shared with Riley Mason and Mackenzie Mannix.
T-Ball saw a full side turn up for Stingrays this week, with Dolphins and Seahawks joining forces to play them in a full game. Coach Taylor started to teach the children about throwing the ball to bases to assist in getting outs. Teaching the players step by step how to play the game allows maximum knowledge to be absorbed. Good hits for the day were had by Logan and Sage Drummond.
