Ulladulla (67.87) won their opening heat against Snapper Rocks (65.40), Sandon Point (52.93) and Scarborough (49.93) to move straight through to the semi-finals.
In the semi-final, Ulladulla (34.43) finished fourth behind Sandon Point (54.17), Curl Curl (47.70) and Cronulla (34.43) – with natural footer Harry Phillips the standout for Ulladulla, scoring 14.93 in semi-final number two.
Ulladulla’s team included Phillips, Aidan Lewand-Parsons, Luke O’Connell, Beau Buckpitt and Jared Smith.
The North Narrabeen Boardriders ended up winning the inaugural Gromtag Australian Championships ahead of North Avalon, Sandon Point and Curl Curl.
The Gromtag event expanded in 2018 to a national series, with three qualifying events leading into the Australian Championships contested by the top 16 clubs across the country.
