Shoalhaven Mariners hosted Northern Pirates Gold at Ison Park on Sunday, November 25 with Pirates coming out victorious with a score of 15-4.

The first innings saw Pirates out to bat first gaining 4 over home plate. The first out was a team effort from Mitchell Parrott at short stop to Mason O’Rourke on second base. To finish the innings out an unassisted out came from Saxon Reghenzani-Tate taking a great catch sitting on first base.
Mariners Noah Tagliobracci was into bat first. Once he got on base he stole his way around the bases before coming home off a wild pitch from the Pirates pitcher. Mitchell Parrott also made it on base to be brought home by Mason O’Rourke, Mariners scoring 2 safe across the plate for the first innings.
The second innings saw Mariners step up their pitching and fielding efforts to keep Pirates to 1 run by Sam Regan who hit a massive home run out to Will White in centre field. The outs for the innings were fly catches caught by Noah Tagliobracci and Saxon Reghenzani-Tate.
A pitcher change for the Pirates saw Mariners unable to score any runs in the second innings.
In the third innings Pirates came out firing to score an impressive 5 runs over home plate. A power catch was taken by Timothy Andrews in right field to get the outstanding catch of the innings. Mariners in to bat saw them staying quiet unable to bring any runs home safely.
In the fourth and final innings, Pirates continued to lead the game with another 5 across the plate. Outstanding fielding for the innings was a joint effort between Mackenzie Mannix to Saxon Reghenzani-Tate for the out on home plate.
Mariners came alive in the last innings to bring in Mason O’Rourke and Cameron Goulden safely over home plate, leaving the gap just that little closer.
Pitching duties were shared between starting pitcher Noah Tagliobracci pitching 48 pitches, 30 strikes and 2 strike outs, Saxon Reghenzani-Tate pitching 48 pitches, 19 strikes and 2 strike outs. Finishing pitcher for the day was Mason O’Rourke pitching 8 pitches and 2 strikes. Catching duties were done my Mackenzie Mannix for the whole game.
Pirates’ stand-out batters for the day were Sam Regan, Max Stevens, Liam Anderson and Emrys Mulvihill. A huge thank you to Pirates Gold for making the trip down to Ison Park.
Friday, November 23, T-Ball and Junior Baseball had to be cancelled due to the severity of the wind which made it unsafe for our players. Looking forward to getting back into the swing of things next Friday.
