TWO of Shoalhaven’s top juniors, Nowra Public School’s Matthew Higham and Shoalhaven Heads Public School’s Tom Fletcher, have excelled in South Coast colours at the recent Boys PSSA Cricket State Championships.

During the Barooga based tournament, Higham (Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemens) and Fletcher (Berry-Shoalhaven Heads) guided their side to three wins and one loss.
The pair opened their tournament against Mackillop – a match they won 2/113 to 8/112, with Higham finishing with 0/17.
The team lost their second match to CIS 131 to 102 – despite Fletcher’s 46 not out and Higham’s 2/19 and seven runs.
South Coast rebounded on day three, to defeat Hunter 8/90 to 8/89, thanks to Higham (18 and 2/6) and Fletcher (three).
They ended their tournament on a high by defeating Polding 6/126 to 7/125, with Higham (0/8 and 30 not out) and Fletcher (five) doing their bit for their side.
During the tournament, Fletcher also finished with five catches, five run out assists and two stumpings, while Higham claimed two catches.
