Sydneysiders Bob Talas, Mark Rugless, Ken Yardy, Bernie Zacharia and Zac Zacharia said they had keenly awaited the event, and were not perturbed by inclement weather.
“The rain was worse last year, we’ve been here (to the beer and BBQ festival) for the past three years,” Mr Yardy said.
“We’re looking forward to the pig races.
“Along with a few other friends we’re part of a pig-racing syndicate,” he joked.
The event continues into the night and tomorrow.
This is your chance to sample brews from over a dozen leading craft beer labels, eat some of the best barbecue in the country, see 30-plus teams battle it out in the BBQ Competition and join in the unmissable piglet racing event that has become one of the festival’s biggest hits.
