Jayden Millard, who last year played a starring role in helping the Sharks take out the Jersey Flegg title, is joined in the squad by Cody Roach, who this season helped the Bulldogs reach the Group Seven under 18s grand final.
The pair’s under 20s team resumed training this week, along with the club’s SG Ball side – with the Matthews Cup and Tarsha Gale sides beginning next Monday.
The 2018 season was a successful one for the Sharks Academy, with the Jersey Flegg and Tarsha Gale teams crowned as champions after winning their competitions, while Matthews and Ball were extremely competitive, progressing through to week two and week three of the finals respectively.
Millard and Roach’s Jersey Flegg year will kick-off on the weekend of March 23/24, one week following the commencement of the NRL season.
The pair are joined in the squad by Nathan Atkinson, Jangala Bennet, Cooper Bowen, Jack Boyling, Mitch Brennan, Kai Broadhurst, Tom Caughlan, Josh Delailoa, Jackson Devine, Zane Elsey, Angus Ernst, Jack Gould, Tomas Harris, Tyrone Harrison, Tom Hazelton, Isaac Longmuir, Jonaiah Lualua, Connor Luhan, Adam Mortlock, Lorenzo Mulitalo, Jonah Ngaronoa, Franklin Pele, Monty Raper, James Russell, Lachlan Scarpelli, Jackson Stewart, George Sukanaivalu, William Swann, Jensen Taumoepeau and Vito Tevaga.
