Cast your vote wisely
I appeal to the voters of Gilmore to consider, before casting their vote, which party has the best policies that reflect best, the needs of our community.

Issues that pander to fringe and minority groups, satisfy the political narrative of some but the ones that put food on our tables, gives us job security or at all a job, and keeps the cost of living pressures down, must win the day.
Employment figures, interest rates, inflation figures are but a critical few key indicators of a well functioning and vibrant economy. This criteria is not met by way of chance but by a government that has a steady hand on the economic levers.
Be it Labor or Liberal, which ever is your political want, please cast a critical eye over their promises and pledges and then make a subjective assessment of their abilities to deliver. We have never been so well informed by all the mediums which saturate us with information and political data.

Two-speed economy
Ray Daley was a dairy farmer from Kempsey - he was also my grandfather. That is why it pains me to watch the people of regional NSW be neglected by a Sydney-centric Liberal-Nationals Government.
Just weeks ago, the Auditor-General found that regional NSW has been cheated out of almost half of the infrastructure spending they were promised.
Today, we have a two speed economy and we are at risk of a two speed society.
Every time I hear the Berejiklian-Barilaro Government boast about the economy, I’m reminded that regional NSW lost 17,000 jobs over the last five years.
We’re going backwards in the bush. It’s no wonder when the Liberals and Nationals are building toll roads in Sydney, stadiums in Sydney and a disastrous light rail through Sydney.
I will put regional NSW at the heart of everything I do as the new leader of Labor in NSW. Regional NSW will get 100 per cent of Labor’s $4.1 billion Regional Jobs Fund. And over the coming weeks I will outline Labor’s Local Jobs First package.
The Liberals and Nationals have had eight long years. It’s time for change.
M. Daley, NSW Opposition leader
Thanks for your help
I would like to acknowledge the recent work to revegetate and further protect the rainforest on my farm which has been carried out by Dr David Bain and colleagues from the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, as well as volunteers from Conservation Volunteers Australia, local Landcare and members of Ulladulla’s indigenous community. They have taken on the tasks of planting local rainforest species and clearing invasive weeds which had taken hold after the original plantings of 1992.
The efforts of the local Landcare volunteers have been exceptional: they’ve collected the rainforest seeds, germinated them, and planted the young trees. It has been a drawn-out wait for spring rainfall and the opportunity to plant these new trees given the current drought conditions.
To protect the rainforest from livestock, rural fencing specialists from Southern Rural Contracting are replacing fences erected in 1992 as well as installing fences around the newly-expanded, protected area.
Shoalhaven Mayor Amanda Findley has supported the project since inception. The Saving our Species grant allocated to the rainforest on my farm is not a cash handout to me.
The allocation covers the OEH’s budgeted costs associated with fencing, weed control, revegetation equipment, revegetation planting, watering, and monitoring. The current project will run for 10 years.
Preserving Milton’s ancient rainforest, which happens to be the most southerly subtropical rainforest in Australia, contributes significantly to the area’s natural diversity.
