Paul Kelleher, 28, pleaded guilty to concealing a serious indictable offence of another in Nowra Local Court.
The charges stem from an alleged incident in Nowra on August 16, 2017 in which two other men and a woman held a 43-year-old woman against her will with intent to gain advantage.
Court papers said Kelleher was at the Nowra premises where the woman, who suffers a slight to moderate intellectual disability, was allegedly held against her will, forced to hand over money and sign over the registration of her car.
Court papers alleged the woman was assaulted multiple times, including being punched, hit and kneed, by the co-accused while in the house.
Police said Kelleher entered the home at this point but it was not known exactly what he witnessed.
However, police said he would have been aware the offence of aggravated detention was taking place.
Kelleher was captured on CCTV footage obtained from the property entering and leaving the rear of the home on a number of occasions between 4.31pm and 4.36pm.
Police investigated the alleged incident and subsequent arrests included Kelleher.
A charge of taking and detaining in company with intent to gain advantage, occasioning actual bodily harm was withdrawn and dismissed.
He also pleaded guilty to four counts of contravening an apprehended violence order and stalking and intimidation.
Magistrate Gabriel Fleming sentenced him to an aggregate jail term of 15 months, with a non-parole period of nine months.
With time already served Kelleher will be eligible for release on December 23 this year.
