The annual Taste of Christmas, a fundraiser for the Shoalhaven Employers of Christian Education Teachers, was held at Sue Weissel’s property on Saturday, November 10.
Complementary high tea was served to each entrant, prepared by an army of volunteers inside Ms Weissel’s house.
Stallholders from various Christian parishes offered an array of goods, as “now is the time you’re allowed to buy Christmas present, volunteer Gail Bate said.
Last year the fundraiser, organised by Nowra Baptist Church, raised more than $20,000. Ms Bate said that was the goal again.
The funds are used to support Christian education teachers at Vincentia, Shoalhaven, Nowra and Bomaderry high schools.
Shoalhaven High School scripture teacher Marty Richardson said the support from people in various faiths across the region was astounding. Scripture teachers are not funded by any level of government.
“Everything I own comes from these people,” he said.
