From the under sixes right up to the teenage level events many great efforts were recorded on the night.
It’s a great learning experience for the younger age groups as the event is not about winning but about having a go and doing your best.
Athletes also get a bit of coaching along the way, while their families and friends cheer them on from the sidelines.
Meanwhile, the region’s Little As are set for a busy few weeks with several gala days and zone events coming up.
The gala day events burst from the blocks on Sunday with the popular Dragon Derby at Sanctuary Point Oval.
The Dragon Derby is hosted by the Bay and Basin Little Athletics Club and is always a popular event.
