Bomaderry marriage celebrant and media personality Adam Straney and Nowra-based lawyer Paul Ell would challenge Milton businessman Grant Schultz at the ballot if nominations were to be reopened.
The news comes days after a senior Liberal Party powerbroker advised party members interested in nominating to come out of the woodwork and state their intentions publicly.

Nominations can be reopened at the behest of local Liberal Party branch members.
On Thursday, Mr Straney told the Register he was almost certain nominations would not be reopened.
If preselectors decide there is not a sufficient field of candidates, nominations will reopen for about a week.
In that case, Mr Straney said he would “probably” throw his hat in the ring.
It is understood Mr Ell would also nominate. He declined to comment.
Shoalhaven Councillor and Deputy Mayor Patricia White quashed rumours she would also contend for the role.
“I’ve been considering all of my options,” Cr White said.
“I’m waiting to see who stands. I definitely won't stand as the Liberal candidate.”
Shoalhaven Business Chamber president Jemma Tribe, also reportedly interested in running, declined to comment on Liberal Party matters.
