Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemen’s players Daniel Gleeson, Nate Jones and Blake Munilla will play for the Greater Illawarra Zone in November’s Country Championships.
The combined Shoalhaven, South Coast, Southern Highlands and Illawarra associations will host ACT Southern Districts at Hayden Drexel Oval, Worrigee, on November 9, before taking on defending champions Newcastle and Riverina.
The final will be played at Bradman Oval, Bowral, on November 25.
Jones was also named in the Greater Illawarra’s Kingsgrove Cup side for this Sunday’s T 20 double-header against St George and Newcastle at North Dalton Park.
Meanwhile, the Shoalhaven Burns Cup side suffered a loss to the Highlands on Sunday at Hayden Drexel Oval.
The Highlands won the toss, batted first and made a match winning 9/329 in its first innings.
The Shoalhaven, in reply, was all out for 215 runs after 41 completed overs.
Nick McDonald and Dean Tyson led the way with the ball for the Shoalhaven with three-wicket hauls.
McDonald also performed well with the bat and his 73 runs included 12 sparkling boundaries.
Luke Jurancic was on target to make a half-century for the home-side, but fell one run of the mark.
Jurancic’s aggressive knock included three sixes and four boundaries.
Brandon Booth chimed in with 23 runs for the Shoalhaven side.
