A group of dedicated volunteers organised a fashion show to showcase the versatile outfits that can be created by a trip to your local Vinnies shop.
More than 100 visitors turned up for the event, which raised over $3000 for the St Vincent de Paul society.
Volunteers chose outfits to fit in three categories, evening wear, Melbourne Cup and casual.
St Vincent de Paul supervisor Liz Parker said the volunteers had worked tirelessly to prepare for the event.
“They collected items for weeks to try and make the show and the shop look really good,” she said.
“All of the funds raised will go back into helping the society.”
The store opened until 8pm on Saturday, to give shoppers ample time to find an outfit.
The event coincided with the inaugural Dressed by Vinnies Day on Friday, October 26.
This national campaign aims to encourage individuals, organisations and entire workplaces to get behind the initiative and showcase how easy it is to shop sustainably and show your individual style.
