Nowra Anglican College’s Luke Huard, St John the Evangelist Catholic High School’s Kyle Jarrett and their NSW side won the toss at Bexley Oval and elected to bat first, on their home turf.
Bomaderry Cricket Club’s Kyle Jarrett teamed up with Shoalhaven compatriot Huard (North-Nowra Cambewarra) to form NSW’s opening partnership – with the Tiger being the first to fall for zero.
This brought Cameron Cotter to the crease but his stint was short-lived, also being dismissed for a duck.
Huard then teamed up Joshua Moors – with the pair putting on 46, before the NAC student fell for 32.
Moors and Matthew Moran then took control for the hosts, putting on a 276-run fourth-wicket partnership.
The former eventually fell for 167, with the score on 4/332 – with Ryan Clark (eight) falling 32 runs later.
Moran would eventually fall for one run more than Moran, with the score on 385.
Dylan Holdstock (zero) was the final NSW wicket to fall, as NSW declared at 7/385 in the 79th over.
In reply, Queensland started strongly before falling just short of NSW’s total, being all out for 326 inn the 118th over.
The wicket takers for NSW were Ryan Clark (3/44), Connor Blaxall-Hill (2/30), Joshua Moors (2/44), Aidan Bennett (2/63) and Jackson Isakka (1/64).
In their second stint with the willow, NSW reached 0/6 before wet weather interrupted play – with Aidan Bennett (six not out) and Nathan Hillier (zero not out).
Unfortunately, no more play was possible, due to the constant rain, seeing the match end in a draw.
