Via a text message, Telstra informed consumers, “Your mobile service may be impacted at various times during this period.”
On Tuesday Fairfax Media asked Telstra for specifics on the area affected, back up options for consumers and timeframe on maintenance works considering rain has been forecast.
“The works involve a minor 4G upgrade to our mobile site at the Nowra Exchange,” a Telstra spokesperson said via email.
“It is anticipated that any impact would be very limited and is unlikely to be noticed by customers.
“It is expected to be completed in the coming days.
“A secondary, larger upgrade is scheduled to be completed in the coming months and once completed will deliver more consistent data speeds and additional capacity for our customers in Nowra.”
