O’Shannessy, who won league MVP on his way to helping the Tigers win the Waratah League division two youth men title, is one of 23 athletes named in the preliminary squad – with a final squad of 10 players to attend the Australian Championships in Canberra from February 13-17.
Joining the Tiger, who also represented NSW at the Australian All Schools carnival, in the squad will be Bankstown Bruins’ Vishaal Behari, Blacktown Storm’s Hayden Blankley, Manly Sea Eagles’ Quinn Campbell, Isaiah Jeffersom, Banjo Talbot and Stefan Valkovic, Camden Valley Wildfire’s Miguel Campos and Peter Waizer, Penrith Panthers’ Lachlan Charlton and Jasper Rentoy, Newcastle Hunters’ Alexander Clinton, Bathurst Goldminers’ Will Cranston-Lown, Norths Bears’ Ted Ferguson, Illawarra Hawks Brandon Freire and Lachlan Dent, Maitland Mustangs’ Keegan Harvey, Newington College’s Askam Reed Nottage, Gosford City Rebels’ Daniel Titus, Sutherland Sharks’ Brendan Winstanley and Ethan Laudato and Norths Bears’ Benjamin White and Hunter Goodrick – with Michael Cassidy the coach.
