A council press release advised some increase in flows in the Kangaroo River has allowed Shoalhaven Water to top up Bamarang Dam, while conserving the backup supply from Danjera Dam.
Before the relatively heavy rainfall period, 2850 million litres of water was released from Danjera dam, and the back up supply was sitting at 59 per cent on Thursday afternoon.
The whole of the Shoalhaven continues to be served from Bamarang Dam, as Porters Creek Dam in the southern area was sitting at 49.3 per cent on Thursday afternoon.
Shoalhaven Water said Shoalhaven River water levels are being monitored daily.
Shoalhaven Water staff will continue to monitor the total inflows to Tallowa dam. Pumping from this supply can be maintained while the inflows exceed 90mm per day. On Thursday, the inflow was above 500mm per day.
The Bureau of Meteorology has declared an El Niño alert level this week, which indicates residents can expect a hotter and drier summer than usual.
