Mr Burton, an active RFS volunteer, accepted his long-service award at a ceremony held for RFS and State Emergency Service volunteers, hosted by Shoalhaven City Council on Friday night.
Shoalhaven Councillor and fellow Culburra Beach brigade member Mitchell Pakes said Mr Burton had an acute local knowledge.
“There were many incredible, dedicated volunteers honoured at the awards ceremony,” Cr Pakes said.
“Bob is one of the only ones who has served his 30-year career with same brigade.
“He has been an active member for the entire 30 years. In fact he was running late to the ceremony because he was attending a fire call.”
