Berriman could not contend with Emmerton’s power climbing in the race however he had enough accumulated points from earlier interclub events to finish second overall in the 2018 series.
Berriman had won at Dapto and at the Nowra interclub races and placed high at Goulburn and Camden.
This final round of the interclub series was held at Berrima on the Greenhills course with strong winds and plenty of climbing before the field had to tackle the final 600m uphill charge on Ben Dooley Hill to the finish line.
Emmerton put in a powerful display to ride through to the win from the scratch mark in the 45km race.
However Nowra Velo placed six riders in the top 10 positions with Jason Spence third ahead of Scott James and Colin Hunt.
NVC president Michael Thompson finished seventh, Kate Darke was eighth and Isaac Mitchell crossed the line in ninth position.
Other Nowra Velo riders at this final round included Ben Wallis, Tony Kuipers, Richard Vitiello, Tim Devlin, John Cullity and Nathan Crump.
Spence also finished ninth overall in the 2018 series with Vitiello in 11th position.
Local racing with the Nowra Velo Club resumes next Sunday, October 7, with graded criteriums on the Albatross Aviation Tech Park, starting at 8.30am.
Jade Colligan is entering a block of National Series races over the next few weeks with the Tour of the Gippsland over four days starting on Saturday, October 6, and a week later Jade will be racing in the National Capital Tour, based in Canberra.
