Despite the weighted possession in the first quarter at North Dalton Park, the Tigers couldn’t convert their dominance into scoreboard pressure, to only lead 1.2-8 to 0.1-1 at the end of the first quarter.

The game opened up in the second quarter, with both teams scoring a number of majors – as it appeared as though Kiama would go into the main break with a lead.

But a goal to Tyler Dunstan in the final minute for the Tigers ensured the black and gold went in half-time up 3.5-23 to 3.1-19.

The windy conditions made the scoring hard once again in the third period, with the Tigers and Power only adding 10 and seven points to their respective totals in the third quarter – as Glenn Keys’ Tigers led by seven going in the final term.

The fourth quarter was an absolute slog, with both teams having a number of chances to take the game by the scruff of the neck. 

But after withstanding numerous attacking raids by the Power, a late goal by Matt Polman sealed the 12-point win for the Tigers.

In the win, Polman kick three goals, while Jordan Matthews and Dunstan kicked one each.

Tigers skipper Jack Boxsell claimed man of the match honours, with Blake Munilla, Connor Clarke, Courtney Ward, Dunstan, Polman, Jake Evans also having strong games.
