A try before the break and two immediately after pushed the young Sharks out to a 16-point lead and while there were a few anxious moments late in the contest they managed to hold on and progress to the Flegg decider this weekend.
Standing in their way will be a Penrith side which beat the Sharks in week one of the finals, reversing a result from earlier in the season when the Sharks came out on top in a regular season match played at Panthers Stadium.
Five-eighth Millard and his Sharks reported no serious injury concerns coming from the preliminary final and as a result coach Dave Howlett has named an unchanged line up for Sunday's big game.
The Sharks vs Panthers Jersey Flegg grand final is scheduled for a 12.45pm kick-off at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday.
Following the Jersey Flegg match on Sunday the Newtown Jets, the Sharks partner club in the Intrust Super Premiership, play their Grand Final against the Canterbury Bulldogs.
That match gets underway at 3pm.
