The 47-year-old spent her birthday in Penrith Local Court where she was disqualified from driving and fined $450 after pleading guilty to reckless driving.
The charges stem from dash cam footage captured on the Princes Highway, south of Nowra near Falls Creek where Ms Delaney’s car was captured weaving in and out of traffic.
The footage was captured by a Shoalhaven resident about 4.30pm on June 18, just after the Jervis Bay turnoff heading south.
The alarming footage captured her vehicle overtaking several cars across double lines, almost having a head-on crash with another vehicle coming the other way.
Police from Strike Force Puma, targeting high-risk drivers, saw the footage and charged Delaney on June 28.
The strike force was set up after a horror road toll over Christmas and New Year period, specifically the head-on crash claiming five lives, including four members of the Falkholt family near Bendalong.
Officers are targeting drivers with a history of licence offences and a repeated history of drink and drug driving offences, as well as drivers with extreme and erratic behaviour.
Delaney pleaded guilty to reckless driving in Penrith Local Court. Magistrate Daphne Kok fined her $450 and disqualified her from driving for 12 months. Another charge of negligent driving was withdrawn and dismissed.
