The Farm Aid Concert is the brainchild of Sussex Inlet man Theo Sanders, who saw it as an opportunity to help local farmers.
“We know local farmers are doing it tough,” he said “and we saw this as a way to help out.”
The Ruins will headline the show which will start at the Country Club at 7.30pm.
“They are regular performers at the Star Hotel at Milton and will provide an outstanding night of swamp, surf, blues and funk rock,” he said.
“A night of good dancing.”

“They will be supported by The Usual Suspex, a four part harmony group, who perform popular songs with a twist. You’ll have to go along on the night to see just what it is.
Tickets are just $20, with 100 per cent in partnership with Bendigo Bank going to the local farmers’ cause Mr Sanders said.
Tickets are available at the club prior to the concert or at the door on the night if still available.
“We’re hoping we can fill the place and have a great night and raise lots of money for our local farmers,” he said.
Mr Sanders has experience in organising music festivals and after having a house at Sussex Inlet for many years retired permanently to the area three years ago.
He is also involved with the Sussex Youth Group and is secretary of the Sussex Inlet Men’s Shed.
“With my contacts I just saw this as a way of being able to help,” he said.
“It’s not about the music, it’s about the drought and helping our famers.”
Mr Sanders is also behind the Sussex Inlet Open Mic, which is held on the fourth Sunday of every month at the Sussex Inlet Bowling Club.
He’s also on a committee looking to establish a music festival in the village.
“We’d love to have a three-day Legends’ festival which would also incorporate a street parade,” he said.
“We would have buskers, and impersonators who would highlight the work of some of the legends of the industry like Elvis, Roy Orbison to name just two.”
He said it is hoped to stage the event on the October long weekend next year.
