On Friday Tricia Brett and Trish Mills will embark on what’s tipped to be the trip of a lifetime, raising funds for a cause – the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
They will join a contingent of about 80 adventurers in 35 four-wheel drives, and travel from Longreach, west of Nowra, to remote locations in outback NSW, QLD and SA.
The pair, who have been friends since school, will cover nearly 3000km of territory, travelling to Cobar, Tibooburra, Innamincka, Birdsville, Simpson Desert, Marree, Wilpena and Broken Hill on the week-long trip.
“I’m a continence nurse adviser and I often see patients affected by prostate cancer,” Trish said.
“Tricia and I have both had men in our lives who have been affected by prostate cancer.
“Lots of preparation has been made mainly by by husband to get us up and going with a safe, reliable 4WD.”
Each vehicle on the inaugural Outback 4WD Adventure for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia is required to raise at least $1500 for Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
Over the past few months the girls have made batch after batch of Rocky Road, sold it across the Shoalhaven to raise just over their $1500 target.
They will cover all vehicle and travelling expenses – no funds raised will go towards their trip.
