Quinlan limped off the field midway through the second half of Sunday’s victory over Halifax with a suspected ACL injury and scans this week have confirmed the extent of the damage to the in-form fullback.
Quinlan will now undergo knee reconstruction surgery, with his timescale for recovery likely to stretch well into the 2019 season.
“Well my seasons been cut short, I’ve done my ACL and go in for surgery on Monday,” Quinland said via Facebook.
“Hopefully that all goes well.
“Obviously I’m gutted – this is the best I’ve felt in a long time but things happen, so I just got to crack on.”
Quinlan’s team mate Carney left the field before half-time on Sunday after damaging ankle ligaments and he too will require a reconstructive operation, while prop Jewitt has also been pencilled in for surgery next week on a shoulder issue.
