The Culburra Beach Boardrider announced her withdrawal from the inaugural Surf Ranch World Surf League Championship Tour event, due to a continued illness, on Instagram.
The 24-year-old, who has already missed the past two events – Corona Open J-Bay and Vans US Open of Surfing – will miss her third straight CT event, leaving her world title defence in tatters.
Wright, who currently sits seventh in the world rankings, will be replaced by Macy-Jane Callaghan at the California event – stop number eight on the CT.
