Haddow, who took his season total to 28 goals following Saturday’s hat-trick, was the star, as Nathan Aldridge’s Bomaderry Tigers defeated the Gerringong Breakers 3-1, to book their spot in the grand final on Saturday, September 15.

The match, a replay of last year’s decider, started at an intense pace, with both sides trying to assert their dominance.

“We scored first through Jordan [Haddow] before they equalised through Jake Packham,” Aldridge said.

“The first half was extremely tight and to be honest, they probably had the upper hand going into the break.

“But we made some adjustments at half-time, such as promoting James Eldred’s role in the midfield more, and it worked tremendously.

“In the second half, James [Eldred] took control of the midfield, which saw us get on top.”

The Tigers regained the lead when Haddow scored his second, moments before the game turned on its head.

Firstly, Breakers’ Luke Nolan was shown a straight red, which was followed by his team mate Andy Lockard receiving one too – reducing Jadon Lavington’s team to nine men.

“Once they went down to nine men, we scored our third goal, again through Jordan [Haddow] to seal the match,” Aldridge said.

“While Jordan was exceptional, taking all three of his chances, it still probably wasn’t his best game in the black and gold this year.

“In fact, I thought Brad Bailey was nearly our best, limiting Jordan Lando’s impact.”

The Tigers will now enjoy the week off, before they play the winner of this Saturday’s preliminary final between Gerringong, who will be without the suspended Nolan and Andy Lockard, and Huskisson-Vincenitia – who defeated Culburra 2-1 on Sunday.

In reserve grade’s major semi-final, goals from Campbell Richardson-Thornton, Kye Irwin and Adam Watson helped Callala edge out Huskisson 3-1 – with Alex Musmeci scoring for the Seagulls.

While a first half strike from Nelson Bradley saw Huskisson defeat Culburra 1-nil in third grade.
