The JB CWA wishes to thank the community for its overwhelming support of its recent farmers’ drought fundraising event.
Group members, on Saturday at the Vincentia Marketplace, set up a cake and craft stall and thanks to the community’s wonderful generosity raised $550.
These funds have already been sent to CWA state office and every cent will go directly to the farmers - no administration fees and no overhead costs were deducted.
CWA NSW is distributing the funds quickly to the farmers who are in need and thanks again goes to the community
This weekend several other fundraising events will be held.
Club to help the farmers
Huskisson’s Club Jervis Bay will stage a drought relief auction this Sunday, August 26, from 4.30pm for a 5pm start.
The club has 23 great prize packs available worth over $10,000, all donated by businesses and community members.
Impressive is the only way to describe the auction items and there is something of interest for all to bid on.
They have Australian animal prints, family escape weekends, pamper packs, fishing charters, a signed football by the Wallabies and more.
The club hopes to raise enough money to send a truckload of stock feed for the struggling farmers.
The club will match whatever is raised at the auction ‘dollar for dollar’ and they would like to thank everyone for their support.
Nowra CWA’s fundraiser
The Nowra CWA will host a drought relief event at its Bridge Street Nowra rooms, near the Roxy, this Saturday, August 25 from 8am-1pm.
Funds raised will be donated to NSW CWA’s disaster fund and channelled into drought relief efforts.
At the market morning, there will be jewellery, handicraft, books, bric-a-brac, plants, clothing and Devonshire tea stalls to peruse.
