Geoffrey Keith Sharman, 47, appeared before Nowra Local Court registrar Craig Cockburn on Monday, pleading guilty to two counts of stealing cattle, which police estimate were worth $30,000.

Officers from the Rural Crime Prevention Team, attached to the Monaro Police District under the banner of Strike Force Bushby, arrested Sharman over the theft on July 2.

The strike force was formed in December 2017 to investigate cattle theft from properties in the Kangaroo Valley.

During the investigation, two steers were seized from Moss Vale in January 2018 and nine Angus heifers were seized from a property at Upper Kangaroo River in May 2018.

Court papers said the theft of the nine heifers took place at Kangaroo Valley between midnight November 27, 2017 and 8am December 9, while the two steers, an Angus and Murray Grey, were taken at Upper Kangaroo River between midnight November 28, 2017 and 8am December 5.

Sharman is scheduled to reappear on October 8.
