Visit TAFE NSW Nowra on Saturday (August 18) from 10am to 2pm, grab a free coffee, cupcake and popcorn before you take a tour of the grounds.
Go behind the scenes in the automotive workshop, have some fun with a 3D printer and digital gaming. Admire the collection of classic and other unique cars on display, chat to the NSW Police Highway Patrol, explore TAFE digital’s hidden art, see the Aboriginal smoking ceremony, enjoy the sounds of local musicians.
Test your rope tying skills with the maritime studies teacher, have your blood pressure tested by community services teachers and join celebrity chef Luke DeVille for a cake icing demonstration.
TAFE NSW Regional general manager Kerry Penton said courses for nine of the 10 most in-demand jobs were already being delivered by TAFE NSW.
“There are more than half a million new jobs in the pipeline right now that require doing, not just knowing,” she said.
“With exciting courses and bachelor degrees in areas such as Automotive, Early Childhood Education, Animal Studies, Maritime Studies, Aboriginal Art, Agriculture, Beauty, Building, Business Administration, Hospitality, Information Technology, Hair Dressing, Electrotechnology, Career Pathways, Counselling, Librarian and Community Services, choosing TAFE NSW is an obvious choice for people looking to secure their first job, win a promotion or endeavor on a career change.
“TAFE NSW students are in high demand because of the quality of their education and ability to hit the ground running with the job-ready skills that employers are looking for.”
Visitors to the open day will learn more about more than 1200 courses at TAFE NSW.
“The open day will provide prospective students with an invaluable opportunity to explore the innovative range of courses and pathways to university, meet with award winning teachers and explore the practical, hands-on facilities at TAFE NSW,” she said.
